The Glo Bible
The world has gone digital.
That is not earth shattering news. Its been happening for over a decade. What is more of a current phenomenon is that our digital worlds are slowly become much more mobile through smartphone and tablet computing technology.
The revolution that has taken place in the music industry did not occur because of the availability of digital music but the mobility of those products through iPods and other digital music players.
That same revolution is now happening in the book industry and for the first time, wonderful resources for spiritual growth are beginning to transition to being available as digital content as well.
Today, you are just as likely to see someone open their smartphone or tablet device to read the Bible in church as you are to see someone opening the Bible they brought with them. All this has fueled my search for a grea mobile bible application or ebook and I’m happy to say that I think I’ve found a great one.
I’ve written previously about my preference for the NIV Study Bible when it comes to recommending a Bible for someone. It should not come as a suprise then that the digital resource I want to recommend is also made by Zondervan who prints the NIV Study Bible.
It’s a brand new type of product called The Glo Bible which not only includes the text and notes from the NIV Study Bible, it also includes thousands of pieces of media including artwork, pictures, maps, timelines, and virtual tours that take your study of the Bible to a whole new level.
Glo is available for Mac, PC, Android Device as well as an iPad and iPhone app. What I really like about Glo is it also allows you to take notes which sync across devices in the instance that you have Glo on your mobile device as well as your home computer.
If you are looking for a digital solution which will allow you to have a robust Study Bible with many additional resources on your mobile device or home computer, I highly recommend you check out Glo.
